Solar panels
Our new fulfillment center at Lier in Norway has installed 5 818 m2 solar panels on the roof and side walls producing energy of around 1 150 000 kWh every year. This will cover 30% of the buildings energy demand. This proudly ranks us as one of Norway's top 20 largest solar energy producers!
Energy efficiency
To enhance energy efficiency in our fulfillment centers, we have implemented LED lighting, which consumes less energy and operates more efficiently compared to incandescent bulbs. Furthermore, at our new fulfillment center in Lier, we've installed a heat-reclaim system that covers 96% of the heat demand. The building places a strong emphasis on energy recovery, featuring its own energy center with a CO₂-based cooling system. This system efficiently recovers excess heat, utilizing it to warm the building. This initiative has the potential to save 2.3GWh of electricity.
Certifications
We have set a target to have 100% of our buildings meeting the requirements of environmental certification schemes (E.g. BREEAM, LEED).
Our fulfillment center in Lier, Oslo, has achieved BREEAM in-use Excellent certification with a score of 76%. This makes it the building in Norway with the highest BREEAM in-use score! The fulfillment center has energy class A and is constructed with a focus on the re-use of building materials, energy recovery, and the integration of solar power.
Similarly, our office building in Tøyen, Oslo, earned BREEAM NOR Excellent certification. The building is made with solid, environmental friendly materials of high quality. However, our Lørenskog fulfillment center currently lacks certification.
